Excellent! We took a group of 11 and did the cellar escape room. There were only a couple ways I would have improved it was parking - there was really no clear area where we should have parked. There is about 40 or so very steep steps to get to the lobby - there may have been an elevator but it wasn't obvious if there was. The Cellar required you to go through 2 openings that came up to about waist height - could be a deal breaker for some. I'm a scardy cat and this wasn't too creepy for me - yes, dead body props but nothing too awful. The puzzles and props were great! I would go back!
Worst escape room I've done, take your money to other rooms in St. Louis if you have the option. The decor and theme were good but the puzzles were often nonsensical or required leaps of logic (others in the area just do a better job of puzzles). On top of that the room I did (the subway) didn't have enough of these bad puzzles so the overfull room (cause it was way too crowded with 8 people - I can't imagine fitting 10 inside) had a lot of people just standing around waiting for other people to be done solving stuff to maybe have a chance at the next thing cause they couldn't fit to get close. The item you have to write down your clues resets sometimes - another detail of frustration. The puzzles that existed often seemed just to be there to waste extra time. Like having to wait for timed clues on multiple puzzles. Mostly though, it was the only one puzzle at a time thing that left over half the group not doing anything. It's like I wasted 50$ and my date night (which I don't get a lot of) just to be bored and angry for an hour. I've done a lot of escape rooms and I win or lose but usually I like them either way but by far this was the worst (which is impressive in the most horrible way since I didn't think the last one at the bottom of my list would ever have a bar set lower). I couldn't recommend to anyone coming here unless they overpay to book a small group. At that point you are better off going to one of the many escape rooms in St. Louis that let you privately book rooms without overcharging. If 0 out of 5 stars was an option I'd of picked it. Good decor and theme don't mean a lot when the room itself is horrible and you are left with a night where you feel like you wasted both time and money. If this had been the first escape room I ever did, I would never ever have done a second one. I can say that.
Very fun experience. We accidently chose the most challenging one on our first time. Still a fun experience. Might go again sometime.
Loved the atmosphere created in the Haunted Hotel escape. The anamatronics and video aspects were a fun addition to the typical escape room setup. The puzzles themselves were some of the easier ones I've played through, but some of the looping on mechanisms was a little time consuming. Most escape rooms I've played have several puzzles going simultaneously, while this one played more linear. We just had the 5 people in our own group so that was fine. With the 10 it could hold, I could see it being q bit crowded. That being said, we made it out and had a blast!
I went with a group of coworkers and we had a blast. We did the runaway subway room. We ALMOST got out! Great puzzles. Tough but doable. I was nervous we'd get into an argument because we're all opinionated but we all worked together and it turned into an awesome team bonding experience. I had done 1 other escape room which was a diamond heist downtown. St. Louis Escape puts A TON more effort into theirs. So much detail. Most of my coworkers had never done any before. We were all really impressed and haven't stopped talking about it.
