Once I returned home, I was contacted by one of the people involved in my attack. When I called the police back (reluctantly considering they choose to not help before), I was told that since no evidence had been collected initially that nothing could be done.
I have always supported STL County PD but you guys are making yourselves and all STL area cops look like a bunch of backwoods, hillybilly thugs all across the world. Your community expects much. much better.
The only dealings I have had with SLCPD have been related to obtaining a security license to work in the County. Everyone has been polite and professional.
I have nothing but positive things to say about St Louis County police. When money came up missing at my business they were there to investigate, or when my cameras picked up a purse in the middle of the street, they did what they could do to get the purse back to the rightful owner. Life is very simple, be good, do good, and the police are there to help you. Commit crimes, lie, cheat steal, the police are there to correct the wrong.
Hopefully next time these people do this it will be reported to officers who care, or are at least willing to do their jobs.
Very upset at what happened the other day. I didn't note the date ( If I knew that I would be able to offer this review I would have and hopefully then there may have been a way to identify the driver) but it was at 5:45 AM on I-270 right before Lindbergh heading east. I was probably over the limit myself staying with traffic when a Saint Louis County car went by so fast with no lights that I was angry. Police speed sometimes but this person was way, way over and I know because I tried to catch up just enough to get the plate number but I got up to eighty and the car was still pulling away. I let the car slow down when another Saint Louis Car came by me and hit the lights to get my attention to....obviously get me to slow down and then proceeded speeding himself. I guess I didn't get a ticket because they may have been responding but if I am going eighty and a car is pulling away still how fast is that. Even when I sped up the car was going so fast I had no chance to see the plates. I understand there are times when something very bad may be happening but why no lights? The second car had no lights on and only turned them on to slow me down and then turned them back off. I just wished I had been able to make out the plates and should consider myself lucky to not have received a ticket because that is how things often work.
Thank you for showing us how little citizens matter.
In July this year, I was assaulted by acquaintances in my home after having been drugged. I managed to call 911 for help and told them what had happened. Rather than doing anything to help me or even apprehend them, the officers drove me to the ER claiming I needed a psych eval because in my altered and distraught state I was, by then, becoming incoherent. Instead of collecting any evidence or doing an assault kit, I was held for six days on a behavioral health unit (48 mandatory hours-not including weekend hours) all the while covered in bruises and abrasions and showering away anything that could have helped.
I find it sad that those we're meant to turn to for help can decide to allow people who attack a disabled woman to walk the streets without consequence simply because it was easier for them than to put forth effort.
