According to the DOJ there has to be probable cause or reasonable suspicion for an officer to pull you over (illegal activity). Going down 70 highway by the airport, Officer Schmidt of Edmundson PD gets right behind me and runs my plates to tell me that they're expired. What made her get behind me and immediately light me up I do not know and she couldn't tell me. What was I doing illegal to get pulled? No one knows, yet I get ticketed for it. I appreciate the heads up as everything else checked out. I have nothing against officers as I am an African American male, A criminal justice major and have interned with municipalities. I know how they read plates and I was getting it taken care of, now I have a court date and along with the fines I have to take care of the tax amount (totally my fault). So just as much as this is a minor thank you, it's also curiosity of mine to ask what makes one that hasn't been following do that? Is it after everything is typed in Regis and you see a clean record but a photo of a person that doesn't look like you and you see an opportunity? She was very professional and respectful and came to ask why I didn't roll my window down right away when she pulled me and I proceeded to tell her, "I didn't want to make any sudden movements." I say all that but I really do thank her for conducting a traffic stop like they're supposed to be done. Just wanted to clear up for myself why it was done so hastily in the first place while nothing illegal was being done.

They make most of their money harassing citizens and red light cameras in front of the airport. They hire the scumbags of high school. They, along with St. Ann, take turns pulling over out of towners on highway 70, where they camp out at all times of day
