This is probably one of my favourite places in the world to go, I'm sad that I can't go more frequently. Every time I am in St. Louis I make the trip to visit the art museum and have always been so happy that I do. The collections are absolutely beautiful and the special exhibits are always very unique. So many happy memories here!!
Great museum with lots to see. It has an amazing variety of interesting things to see. Bring good walking shoes. It is big. Best of all, it's free unless you want to see the special exhibit.
The cafe has great sandwiches.
Free entry with a lot of art. We only did the European floor and it took us at least 1hr. A lot of well known painter and impressive art. There was kid group doing the visit and the guide was very interesting ! If you want to do all the museum I would recommend to do it in multiple day
Beautiful facility! This museum has a well balanced collection, a little of everything. Nice cafe in the basement too. My only regret is that it was too cold to enjoy the grounds outside. Will definitely visit again!
Entry is free for the main exhibits, but special exhibits are an extra cost. The art was wonderful, and there is a LOT to see. More than we expected based on other reviews. Give yourself at LEAST 2 hours to spend here, and if you like to do more than just walk through each room, don't expect to get through everything. Also the staff wasn't very friendly and before 4:50 were already telling us to leave, despite the museum hours saying it was open until 5. Some of them were rude about it as well. One of them specifically said "can I get you to leave?" more than once while we were working our way through the last room, despite us being agreeable and we were out the door by 4:50. It would have been understandable if we were further from the exit and it was already 5, but that wasn't the case. If we go back we plan on giving ourselves at least 3 hours and making sure we're gone before 4:45.
