I would highly recommend this clinic to other people-- with a warning to them that it will take quite a while. (Though this last time I got an older eye doctor and he was very speedy and efficient.)
The eyes exams are very thorough and they take their time with their patients. Prepare to spend 2 hours of your time when you go for your appointments, but it is well worth the services provided. I prefer going there than any other optical center for sure. Contact prices are reasonable.
I've been there four times. Examiners are very thorough and conscientious. I've had things checked that have never been checked before. All have been personable. My only complaint is that the process is slow, but that's to be expected with newcomers and also the time it takes their overseer to check the work they've done.
The equipment they used was kinda dusty with fingerprints, so the prescription I was given was much stronger than my previous one from a year ago. My appointment was 2 hours, but I was a new client so that's somewhat understandable. Everyone there is nice, but it has taken over 3 weeks to get TRIAL LENSES. I'm not usually so critical but this has been a truly awful experience. Never returning.
Even the office staff was both very nice and capable too.
Good selection of moderately priced glasses; I had a super nice frame helper last time.
Picked up my glasses today, the tech did nothing to check the fit even when I asked her to, after wearing them for a while and comparing the fit to my old glasses the fit is way off. now I have to go back and have them adjusted. This is an inconveince. I paid a lot of money to be blown off by an employee who couldn't be bothered to do her job.
A few days later a school Rep called me and apologized for the problem and personally assisted me in resolving the issue. Kudos to Sally W. and Gaitor (Sorry if I misspelled your name I mean no disrespect)
I have been buying glasses from UMSL more than 20 years. During that time, I have only had one bad pair of glasses. These are students so bear that in mind.
