One used to be able to order selected pieces (either white or dark meat) of their fried chicken as well as a choice of two sides (with a wide selection of sides that no longer exists on the new menu, where it appears you now are given the two sides of fries and slaw).
Why do establishments feel the need to mess with what already is good and profitable? Too bad . . . bring back the old menu and you'll bring back the crowds, which if judging by the availability of parking now, just have not returned.
So, don't think we'll be revisiting the "new" Pat's . . . sometimes new and improved is not always better . . . just ask the folks at Coca Cola when the new and improved Coke flopped miserably several years ago.
Friendly staff, and great food is what this place is all about. Their weekend brunch is great. I'd recommend the B.E.L.T. (BIT with a fried egg) on a crissont to cure any leftover feelings from a late Friday or Saturday evening. They also have great drinks, and live Irish music on Sundays.
If brunch isn't your thing, they have nightly drink specials, and I'd recommend the spicy fried chicken, or the salmon burger for healthier fare. The four Tv's in the place aren't large enough to be intrusive, but you can still catch most games here.
Great pub food with a Ireland theme. Ate brunch here great fried chicken, biscuits, and gravy. Then had lunch there, and got the guniess stew which was very good and reminded us of the food from Ireland itself. Always going here when walking dogtown!
Great corner pub with good street views. Kelly the bartender is a great reason to visit but the entire staff and management are a warm and welcoming group. I can remember smoking camels and drinking Stag beer while sitting at the bar in my youth. Today though this bar is a healthy version of those days. The kitchen produces some of the best meals in any pub in St. Louis, has some great beers, an extensive top shelf distilled selection and an atmosphere that will make you realize why grandpa and grandma hung out here. Plus the zoo and Forest Park is a short walk away!
Well . . . I went online to view the menu of this "revamped" restaurant, once a favorite of mine and my friends. Not at all impressed with the new menu selections, which are quite pared down from what was available just a year ago. Honestly, the sparse menu looks like it's been re-created for the convenience of management and the kitchen, not the palates of its clientele.
Adults and kids alike are welcome here. They have a wall of puzzles and books for the kids, and you get 1/2 off kids meals if you spend $25. Right across from Turtle Park, this is a great place to stop in before or after your Zoo or Forest Park adventure. Stop by the next time you're in the neighborhood.
Cheap beer. I got Budweiser draft because their Budweiser sign is huge. I also got the livers and gizzards. Livers were burnt, gizzards were perfect. The honey mayonnaise was the best, it came with the fries. The steak sandwich was just sad. Six inch long bread and a 4 inch piece of steak. Cheap but not that good.
