Beautiful botanical garden with species from all around the world, and plenty of natives. Their newish kid's zone is fantastically well thought out and built, too bad it closes in the fall for the winter. Their annual Garden Glow event is well worth it, but you should wear your warmest clothes and consider buying a hot drink before you begin the walk.
This is an enormous and beautiful garden. We came for the Japanese festival and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the gardens and variety of things to do. Our favorite were the estates of the original land owner. The house had well preserved furniture and other items to look at. Very fun adventure.
The botanical gardens in st Louis is such an amazing, large wonderful place. In comparison to the Denver botanical gardens, this place seems so much more worth the visit and the money. The gardens does so much for plants and species research while also doing amazing programs to support specific and general education. The plants are wonderful and the walk around the gardens is a meditative and relaxing experience.
Best botanical gardens in the USA (and I've been to a good measure of them)! No others have the vast variety of different plants and ecosystems represented. This place is a local treasure. As an added bonus the after hours activities are plentiful, creative and interesting. Multiple beer related events and don't miss the winter light festival! If you haven't already you should check out the wine dinners.
Great place in general. Good for all group sizes and ages. Memberships are definitely worth it to go more than a time or two in a year. The variety of special exhibits and such add a lot and keep visiting in all seasons interesting. The children's garden in the warmer months is fantastic as is the learning center next door.
