Very interesting museum about the history of telephones. Be sure to let a guide tell you about all of the memorabilia and objects!
Very well kept museum, with lots to see. They have rare videos playing in almost every room. Only bad part was that there was a school field trip and these kids were rude. Old enough to know better, no home schooling.
An informative museum. The displays are arranged well and the descriptions are clearly stated. It was interesting to see the history of the barracks.
I am very glad we stopped at this museum. After an informative video, you could tour the museum at your own pace. They have a small gift shop with proceeds going back to the museum.
I would love to give this museum a positive review. The artifacts were well presented, Missouri's own history during the war is fascinating and seldom talked about, and the timeline aspect was interesting. But, having done some research on the Civil War, I was disappointed in how biased the museum was toward the Confederacy. It was not an obvious bias, but little things added up. From condescendingly explaining that the causes of the war are complicated and "take many years of study to understand," to omitting that the first feature length film about the Civil War, "Birth of a Nation," is extremely racist and pro-Confederate. I would only recommend if you are ok going in with the knowledge that it is subtly biased.
