This was my first experience with a jazz bar but this 1 experience made me want to find more jazz bars. We sat at the bar on the 2nd level and I would say had one of the best experiences in a bar ever. This is the place to go for a good time. They have great blues and jazz players from all over that come thru and play. The band that was there that night really put their hearts into it and made me get out of my chair and want to dance multiple times. I recommend this place for sure!
We came here from out of town (Alabama) and expected more. First, there was a 5 dollar cover charge. The older lady at the front was sweet, but figured a cover charge before 10pm was a bit early. The balcony area had a nice view though. I ordered a glass of Malbec (red wine). It tasted old (and not in a good way). The did not have coasters or small square napkins to place under the glass. The menus had coffee stains all over it and looked/felt super dirty. It was difficult to breathe in there. I don't think they have good ventilation. My mother's allergies started kicking up the way it does when she is around mold. We were told that the main jazz artist would be on stage at 10pm. We left at 1015 because he was still not there. I would not recommend this place. Go to that place across the street- better ventilation and better music.
Very nice, food was good, the live band was awesome, seating not so great. I would recommend better seats and more waiters on a Saturday night. Overall nice place
There were 8 of us out for a girls night. The oyster bar was over an hour wait. So we walked down here. It was a 5 dollar cover so we weren't thrilled but the music ended up being good. The lady at the front said there was a table for all 8 of us. We'll the table only had 6 chairs but we made it work. Then a waitress came over and got attitude saying we are sitting at a table reserved for 6. We had no clue and already ordered drinks. Then she was like well your already sitting here and left. The waiter who took our drink order had a little better attitude about it but not much. The place was super busy. We were there almost 2 hours! I only was able to get a glass of wine. My burger was good but the sweet potato fries are gross, the reg fries were better. The cheese grits were yummy too. Prices weren't bad they're just unorganized
Great venue, premiere spot for soul, rhythm, and blues acts in St Louis. Intimate setting to watch the performances. The menu is Cajun style and is good.
